Checking in...

Hi everyone - yes I am still alive and kicking. Feel like I've caught my annual cold weather cold. Yippee. It's got a new twist this year - instead of running like a faucet, my ears and jaw hurt from the sinus pressure. It's definitely not a sinus infection - just the pressure causing pain.

Tomorrow I head back to work after a four day Thanksgiving break. I had asked to sit with and observe someone for half a day, but I think I'm going to ask if I can skip that after all. Feeling like I do, I really don't want to be sitting that close to someone else and getting her sick. I'd rather just sit in my own little cubi-hell and sniffle my way through the day.

I did my research and found the safest rodenticide I could and put it in my attic and basement yesterday. It says I should see results in 4-5 days so I'll be sure to have my shovel handy Tuesday and Wednesday. I sure hope it works. There's supposed to be a new one coming out on the market that is totally safe for the muttlings, but I can't wait for it. They're destroying my house. (not the dogs - what a change! lol) I just pray I don't have one die in the wall. UGH.

Oh yes, Christmas wish list. A large burner for a Roper (made by Whirlpool) stove. New trays to go under the burners. (Black - they hide the burned stuff better lol) A water filter for my refrigerator. (GWF cartridge GE smartwater). Heating element for the water heater. I'll have to get back to you on the model # to track down the part #. I don't feel like going into the basement right now. LOL Bolt cutters to cut the old chains off my porch swing so I can hang it next year. National Geographic. Kid style bubble bath (grown-up floral, etc stuff makes me sneeze.) Bubble gum and strawberry are good. :-D Seems like there was something else at Home Depot, but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

I wouldn't mind a hot date either, but I'm not holding my breath. *sigh*

The boys want rawhides and more of the 88cent stuffed dog toys at WalMart to kill. I can't think of anything else and I'm not expecting all of this - these were just ideas that came to mind. With the repairs to the ac and the security system, Christmas is going low end this year. I'm sure you can all relate.

Cindy - I'm thinking of you. Hugs. Hugs for all of you.

Week Three

Class is starting to get more interesting. We're starting to actually input data (in dummy screens of course) and the programs we're using are very complex. We learned the easiest type yesterday and it still involved about 10-12 screens by the time you were done. You have to be really anal about following the directions and skipping a step is not a good idea. The program is pretty forgiving about letting you go in and fix most of your errors, but if you make one, you have to figure out WHERE. That's when it gets tricky.
