TN and Taco Bell

I got a chuckle this evening whenI read the following article on Chattanoogan.com. Now you can see why TN is now the 5th fattest state in the nation - don't get between a native and their fast food! ROFL http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_71626.asp

The news coming out of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama is just heartbreaking, and the devastation is beyond comprehension. I can't even imagine, and don't ever want to endure, such a tragedy. The death toll is going to be horrendous. Somehow I'll scrape up a donation for the Red Cross and I'm sure the food banks will soon be in search of donations, once supply lines can be placed. There's just nowhere for them to even have staging areas right now! It sure puts your problems in perspective.

On another front, I'm concerned about some family members who lived in MS. I'm pretty sure my cousin and his wife evacuated, but I don't know about his two adult children. As of Sunday, one of them was still in Jackson and that worries me.

quick update

Not a whole lot to add to the last post. I had a nice chat with cousin Bob this evening - he and Fran's girls are growing like crazy!

Earlier in the day I met up with a friend and her daughter to check out the house she's renovating here in the neighborhood. It's so much fun to look at a building stripped to it's beams and play with the layout, and plan all the features you want to use. Or at least it is for me! lol

Aside from that I accomplished nearly none of the things I had planned for the weekend. I spent most of Saturday sleeping, and today was a pitifully wasted day. I kept thinking about stuff I should do, but that's about as far as it got.

After three and a half days of religiously taking antibiotics and eating gut-friendly I got sick of chicken and eggs, and decided to live dangerously. I went to Taco Bell. All in all, I didn't pay too high of a price for it, but it wasn't one of my better choices, either. Oh well.

On the plus side, I just figured out what I could season my omelets with to actually make them appealing. Tony Chacero's creole seasoning mix. YUMMY.

Now that I've had my 1 am omelet, I'll go take that dern horsepill sized antibiotic and try to get some sleep. Hope everyone is having a good day - my thoughts and prayers are with those in harm's way on the Gulf Coast and in the Persian Gulf.

It's back. Damn

My body cohabitator - aka CD of the IBD family is back in all of it's glory. Yippee.

I 'knew' this already - but somehow it sounds worse when your doctor tells you. LOL

Anyway - I'm attempting to be kinder to my guts than they are to me. We'll see how well it works over the next week or so.

Not much else to tell - the fence is finally up - that will be a blog post unto itself. Whatever you do, don't IN MY OPINION contract any fencework with Action Fence of Chattanooga. More later.

The termite people are all paid off. The house is refinanced. Good thing I have some extra cash - as it's probably all going to end up paying my copays. So much for that great master plan. *sigh*

TG for my boys - they really are good company.
